I applied for the UTAS Master's Creative Writing course with the feeling it was now or never for me in writing a novel. My fellow classmates turned out to be an interesting mix of writers with
a wide range of genres. I decided to rework a short story I had written some time ago based on a Tasmanian unsolved murder.
Along the way I received much valued guidance from our tutor,
Rohan Wilson and my classmates, whose enthusiasm and suggestions for improvement energised me. My dear sister Winsome also supported me in my writing, providing mentorship and helpful hints when needed. Sadly, she has since passed away and is greatly
missed.
I am proud to have gained my Master's and intend completing a novel in the not too distant future. Getting it accepted for publication would be the icing on the cake.
