APRIL 2020

28. Apr, 2020
Hello everyone and welcome to the April Newsy News

It has been decided to cancel all our regular monthly meetings until further notice, which is a shame as all those who could attend always enjoyed catching up, reading homework, writing exercises and listening to guest speakers. At the moment, Stylus and the Newsy News are the only way we can keep in touch with you.

You still have over a month to enter the free writing competition and win a $20 cheque.
1. Write a story as Enid Blyton would have written it.
2. Write a fictional story with Enid Blyton as the protagonist
or
3. Write about the life of Enid Blyton.
$20 first prize for the winning story.
Word limit - between 750 and 1,000 words.
The winning short story will be featured in the June/July 2020 Stylus as well as one other story from each of the three genres.

Our Rose Frankcombe Short Story Competition 2020 is also open, and the details are in the April/May Stylus or on our website: www.swwtas.org

Please send more short story, poems, or information about a new book you have recently published for the next Stylus. They should arrive by Saturday, 30th May. Maybe you have been shortlisted or won a short story or poetry competition. If so, we would love to hear about it. Maybe you have written about COVID 19. Comical or life stories or poems about how you are coping with the distancing and isolation for example.

In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy and write, write write.
Bye for now,
Secretary Wendy
